The Ministry of Railways, led by Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, today launched RailOne, a unified “super‑app” that consolidates a host of railway services into a single mobile platform.

What You Can Do with RailOne

The app integrates several features previously spread across multiple platforms, including:

    • Ticketing: Reserve or unreserved journeys, platform tickets, monthly passes
    • Travel Info: Live train tracking, coach positioning, real-time PNR monitoring
    • On‑board Services: Food ordering, welfare (Rail Madad), complaint registration, refund processing.
    • Unified Login: Single sign-on with IRCTC RailConnect or UTS credentials, plus an R-Wallet for digital payments.
    • Accessibility & Languages: Guest-mode login, Aadhaar/DigiLocker authentication, multilingual user interface, and support for passengers with disabilities.

Behind the Interface: Scalability & Infrastructure

Built on upgraded backend systems, RailOne can support:

    • 150,000 ticket bookings per minute
    • 4 million queries per minute, ensuring a smooth experience even during peak times.

The app offers a clean, minimal UI aimed at replacing multiple legacy apps for a more streamlined user journey.

    Why It Matters

    • Simplified experience: Combines IRCTC, UTS, Rail Madad, and train enquiry into one interface—no more juggling apps.
    • Efficiency & convenience: One login, one wallet—reducing friction for rail customers.
    • Preparation for future upgrades: A scalable base that could add new services—loyalty programs, freight tracking, AI travel assistance—later.

    What Comes Next

    • Availability: Now live on Android and iOS—passengers should update or install via their app stores.
    • Next services: Potential integrations include freight bookings, dynamic platform guidance, ticketless boarding features, and personalized travel assistant functions.
    • Mobile-first strategy: RailOne opens doors to richer services—like tourism packages, e-commerce tie-ins, and analytics-driven travel insights.

Final Thought: RailOne represents a transformation in rail travel experience—simplifying key services, enhancing accessibility, and future‑proofing the platform. As India targets seamless mobility, this can be the cornerstone of smarter, more integrated rail journeys.
