Samsung has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Startup India, the flagship initiative under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). This partnership aims to nurture young innovators across India—especially those from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities—by merging Samsung’s flagship Solve for Tomorrow innovation contest with Startup India’s incubator and mentorship infrastructure.

    Key Program Highlights

    • Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow champions student-led innovation, inviting 14–22-year-olds to tackle real-world challenges across AI, climate tech, education, and health themes.
    • Startup India brings an ecosystem of incubators, mentorship, regulatory facilitation, and access to early-stage funding. Together, the two systems offer a powerful springboard for grassroots innovation.

    How the Collaboration Works

    • Nationwide reach: Talent is being sourced from remote districts such as Samastipur (Bihar), Guntur (Andhra Pradesh), Baramulla (Jammu & Kashmir), and Cachar (Assam).
    • Selected teams—especially in the Top 4 finalist category—receive a grant of ₹1 crore, while Top 20 teams get ₹20 lakh and Top 40 win ₹8 lakh, along with prototyping support and mentorship.
    • Mentorship ecosystem: Participants work with Samsung R&D teams (Bangalore, Noida, Delhi) and IIT Delhi / MeitY Startup Hub mentors for design thinking bootcamps, prototype building, and investor pitches.

Samsung Innovation Campus: Complementing Skill India

Beyond innovation contests, Samsung extends its ecosystem through the Samsung Innovation Campus. This national CSR initiative has trained 3,500 youth in AI, IoT, coding, and Big Data in 2024 alone—expanding its digital-skilling reach in partnership with institutions like Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka. turn0search11turn0search8
